Favorite race track? Lemoore Raceway, Lemoore, CA.

Racing Career Goals? Short Term Goal: To set fast time/ track records at the tracks we'll be racing at Long Term Goal: To become a NASCAR Cup driver.

One thing about you, outside of racing, that most people don't know? I bowl in the off season. I have a 142 average.

Cody Thompson is an exciting, young racer whose combination of passion, focus and natural ability drive him to success on the track. Combined with his passion and talent, Cody's dedication and philosophy enable him to garner wins quickly in new classes. To Cody, its not just about coming in first, but a desire to obtain in depth knowledge of his car and racing principles which take him to the next level. Known as a fierce competitor both on and off the track, Cody has quickly advanced in classes he has entered. The passion of winning is in every driver, but the patience and the ability to win is not. In six years of racing, Cody has broken twenty-two track records and has raced to four championships. In 18 months of Micro Sprints, Cody has had 20 heat wins, 8 main wins and has 54 top five finishes out of 61 total races.

In 2008 Cody had completed his 5th year of competitive racing. In his rookie year at Delta Speedway in Stockton, CA he took home the 600 Micro Sprint 3/4 restricted title, along with the Class Act Award/Sportsman of the Year, as awarded by Delta Speedway. Cody also received his Eagle Scout Award in the Boy Scouts of America which only 2 percent of all boys in the US ever achieve. On top of earning his Eagle Scout rank, he also has earned two extra Eagle palms which represents the extra effort in his merit badges on top of what was earned for his Eagle.

2009 was Cody’s first year racing in the "600 Multi Micro Sprint Class". Cody's racing venues in California this year will include Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, Plaza Park in Visalia, Lemoore Raceway in Lemoore, and Delta Speedway in Stockton.

Cody's passion in life is to become a driver in the "Cup Series" in NASCAR. He knows this will not come easy. He is positioning himself now to better his chances of reaching his goal. Cody knows this journey cannot be made alone. He will need plenty of support along the way.
